Student Leadership Program
"Empowering the Leaders of Tommorrow"

SLP’s Mission Statement
To develop effective and essential leadership skills in students and student groups through comprehensive leadership education and diverse experiences.

History of the Student Leadership Program
The Student Leadership Program was founded in the Fall of 1995 as a program of the Student Organization Office through the University's Dean of Students Office. The Student Leadership Program was created to provide out-of-the-classroom learning opportunities in the area of leadership development. At its foundation, SLP was comprised of only 5 members. Now, the Student Leadership Program is one of the most active leadership organizations on UW-Madison's campus serving over 9,000 students and is home to over 90 members.

Is SLP for me?
Of course! SLP offers every service free of charge to all students interested in understanding and developing their leadership abilities. We invite you to get directly involved in the program by attending any of our meetings, programs, and events or by encouraging your organization itself to experience one of our great leadership services.
