Through ground and ropes-course workshops, student groups are able to escape the normal meeting or classroom atmosphere. During workshops, groups gain insight through challenging hands-on activities, initiatives and discussions. By participating in these activities, groups are able to bond, integrate ideas, reflect upon their experiences and transfer these experiences back to the campus atmosphere. As a workshop progresses, participants get to know one another while establishing trust and communication in order to begin forming the frameworks necessary for a successful group. ALPs workshops foster interaction among participants in a positive and effective learning environment.

Ground workshops can be scheduled for any day of the week, at any place on campus. The ropes-course is a fifteen-minute drive from campus and can be scheduled on most weekend days (from April through October) ALPs facilitators learn the internal goals of each group to plan a workshop that assists the group in accomplishing these goals.
